What should I expect during the initial evaluation?
All evaluations include a hearing screening, standardized assessment, informal observation, and parent/caregiver interview to gather medical history, family history, concerns, and goals for the individual. Since evaluations are play-based and therapists work to increase the child’s comfort level before standardized testing begins, play is used as an evaluation tool to observe the child’s current skills.
